Valentines Day Is The Month of February or every day :)

I dare you, I double dare you to take the rest of the month of February and also include March and pick 1 day a week to have a valentines day.  You may be saying that you don’t have time….  lol you don’t have to take a day off from work… do something as fun and simple as making breakfast in bed for your honey, create a date night and take a private archery lesson as a special treat 🙂 .  And for a wicked cool bonus The Heart CHOCOLATE is on sale right now  🙂

The Ancient Greeks considered Cupid as the god of love and an archer. And through the ages Cupid has been a part of stories of love, and of over overcoming great obstacles.   But one theme that seems to weave into all the stories that I have read about Cupid from the different time periods are these words, and I think it is in Latin; Omnia Vincit Amor ” Love Conquers All”.

Maybe in some strange way Cupid (the god of love) can be in our hearts every moment of every day. You can prepare yourself to love life by say getting up a little earlier in the day and go for quick walk in the morning.  As you go for your walk find 10 things that you can appreciate on that walk. It might be the contrast of the colors of the trees and the sky, or the snow bank or the crashing of the ocean waves along the beech, or the feeling of the hot sun as you walk along the beech…  It kind of depends on if you live near the equator or if it is winter time and snow in your part of the country.  When you start your day and prime it with an attitude of gratitude you will probably have more positive energy and closer to feeling love during the day than if you wake up and tried to solve the worlds problems before 7:00am.

There is a lot of beauty in our culture and we do have a good amount of negativity that comes from TV, online, and in a lot of other places that creates stress in our lives. it is not always easy to just feel happy never mind feeling like your in love with life lol. But the cool thing about being human, is that you can decide to find the good in any situation and then you feel better and over time your stress level will go down.

This is a beautiful painting created by Benjamin West in 1809 and below is a an interesting description of the painting

Omnia Vincit Amor, or The Power of Love in the Three Elements

“Omnia vincit Amor,” (Love triumphs over everything) is a quotation from Virgil’s Eclogues. Venus, the goddess of love, is shown at the left with her attributes the doves and with her small son, Amor, armed with bow and arrows, clinging to her draperies. A young deity, presumably Hymen, god of marriage, brandishes a flaming torch with his right hand and grasps in his left cords that leash an eagle. The eagle symbolizes all the creatures living in the element Air, a hippocampus stands for those of the Water, and a lion for those on Earth. The fourth element, Fire, is implicit in the goddess herself, in the winged Amores, or little Loves, and most particularly in Hymen’s flaming torch.”

Archery Class Celebrates Saving The Dragon :).

Last night we saved the dragon!!

I told them that they could work as a team but I didn’t give them any rules except for the basics of the game and they came up with a way to most effectively save the dragon as a team.

Below is a video explanation of how to play save the dragon, presented by one of our young athletes to a beginner archery class.   https://youtu.be/zVcj6xvl5po

One more day and then it’s FRIDAY!!

Hello my friends from around the world. Do you live your life feeling like Friday can’t get here fast enough? Do you feel like life is just flying by a little too fast and you might not be where you want to be?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then take a moment with a blank piece of paper and answer the fallowing questions and then take daily action.  The daily action can be small, like getting up 10 minutes earlier to have a little me time, or to stretch, or to make a healthy breakfast.

What does your day or week look like?

How would you like to make your week, month rest of the year look like?  What do you want 2017 to look like in your life?

Just do 1 thing differently every day and over time it adds up :).

In 2013 Leigh became declassified as a Para Archer because they were no longer accepting her condition, rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune inflammatory disease with no cure.

“in November of 2013, I was invited to the classification hub being held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. I could tell from the minute I was called in, that my destiny had already been predetermined. It was a humiliating process, which took hours. I wish I’d brought an advocate in with me. I was made to do some of my classification in public and it was there that they announced to all who could hear that I was being declassified” e -mail from Leigh Walmsley

Live Life TODAY as if you have the power to change the World.. Because you do

I’m up at 4:00am, I meditate, I exercise, I think about today’s class and what awesome people I’m going to be certifying to become archery instructors, people that will go out and empower and change the lives of their students in a positive amazing way. The hard boiled eggs are cooling, which will turn into a salad with egg and avocado and that is my power breakfast. I’m preparing for 8 hours in the sun with very little shade, I will be on top of my game, every day I go out and I teach or just go out in the world. Have a wonderful day 🙂.

m live life today as if you have the power to change the world becuase you do

Stay in shape all year long for archery, even when it’s snowing

Right now it is about 88F outside and the outside pool is ready to play in….. And I thought I would blog about winter, just to cool things down a little lol.

Are you one of those people that gets ready for outdoor archery in May after hibernating all winter? Are you a hunter that dusts the dust off the bow a month before hunting season and then you pull the bow back just once and then you wish you  had started shooting a few months earlier? If you are not a hunter then you might not now that hunting bows have to be set at a higher poundage than most bows.  .

If you were thinking yes to the above questions, then check out this little video I put together last winter about how to stay in shape all year round if you live in a colder climate like I do. It’s May 25th and it’s time to start planning your winter training, because then you will start your daily habits now and not have to think about it when the snow starts falling.  It’s the little things that we do daily that add up over time.

If you are unable to see the video than just click here.

I just love the below picture and so glad it doesn’t look like that right now 🙂
