Potluck for the team and food for the town of Bow

010

It was the winter solstice of 2014 and my intermediate classes of Bow NH had merged into 1, to celebrate with a competition and to share good food with each other… Oh yes, and everyone brought canned and dried food, that I delivered to the Bow food pantry the next day.  It felt wonderful being able to help out the community by donating food :).

But before any of us could eat, the archers had a fun and challenging competition, and then the balloon popping…. They didn’t want to stop shooting to eat, except for one teenager who was a little hungry  :).

Welcome to The Flying Archer

A moment in time is when an arrow is shot, it cannot be taken back, it is gone to the place you sent it to.   And now what does the student do? They either stress or get excited about where the arrow went.  But, but what if you, the student,  accepted where the arrow went, understood how it went under the target, skipped back up and into the tree.  Hmm, a quick thought on the form, ahh got it.  Then breath, re-focus and forget that last arrow, and just focus on what you are doing now.

The student who shot the arrow below ,  was dancing for joy. Look at how close to the edge the arrow is, without going off the paper!!

I’m LUCY MORRIS, I’m a level 4 NTS archery coach and I own New England School of Archery & Supplies LLC .  And my students are awesome!!  They come from different backgrounds different ages, and I work with maybe about a 1000 students a year.  I also have a commercial Pilots License and I have been an active flight instructor.  Yes, I love things that fly through the air.   Ohh and the water is cool also.  I have been on a Coast Guard Cutter out in a hurricane, and they say that it is much safer for the ship to be out to sea than being tied to the dock during a hurricane. I’m now a Coast Guard Veteran.   Yes, I also did the grad school thing and a diploma on the wall, and I have lived in Washington DC working for the corporate world.
