Paralympian Lee Ford is a Parapan American Games gold medalist and she is still ranked 16th in the USA with the able bodied women.  Lee is also a coach and motivational speaker and her goal is to win the gold in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in 2016.  In this podcast Lee describes the thrill of what it was like to compete in the 2012 Paralympics in London and the challenges of shooting from a stool ie the wind blowing her over in competition. Lee also shares her thoughts about loosing her Para status because of changes in the rules that are painful. And throughout the podcast, Lee leaves us with wonderful pearls of wisdom about archery and her journey and how to live life.

The next Olympic and Paralympic games is this summer of 2016 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil  and I hope that  the media also broadcasts the Paralympic games.

” I have been shooting since a kid, but my dad didn’t think 3D was lady
like. Had he known about target archery then, I might have been stuck
wearing white while shooting. But I started up again in 2008, about 3 years after
my injury, when my friend Stephanie wanted to get me out of the house and
away from a toxic relationship. She said “let’s go to the welding shop and
shoot arrows.” It’s where my first archery club had practices in the
winter. They handed me an Olympic recurve bow, I had only shot compound
barebow fingers before, and let me loose. I was hooked.”  – Lee Ford
